The functionality of the entire terminal device is reliant on the quality of its accessories:
Mounting Frames: These provide the necessary structural support for secure, flush, and aesthetic integration of grilles and diffusers into walls, ceilings, and bulkheads. They ensure a tight, professional finish and simplify the installation and removal of the terminal device for maintenance.
Grille Dampers (Volume Control): Often installed directly behind the grille, these small, adjustable dampers provide localized volume control. They are critical for the final commissioning and balancing of the HVAC system, allowing technicians to fine-tune the airflow rate to meet the exact specifications of each occupied zone.
Spigots and Duct Connections: These robust connections, often made of galvanized steel, are used to transition from flexible or rigid ductwork to the terminal device (grille or plenum box).
