Sensors

A sensor is the core device responsible for monitoring environmental parameters within an HVAC system, acting as the primary data input of the control loop. It measures a physical property—such as temperature, pressure, humidity, or CO2 concentration—and converts that measurement into a usable electrical signal. These devices are engineered for accuracy and reliability, often incorporating a transmitter to condition the raw measurement into a standardized signal (like 0-10V or 4-20mA). This signal is then fed to a central controller, providing the essential real-time data needed for system decision-making and operation adjustments. HVAC Sensors are fundamental to achieving both indoor environmental quality and energy efficiency. By ensuring precise feedback on current conditions, they allow the Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, fans, and dampers to modulate their output accurately, preventing energy waste while maintaining optimum comfort and air quality for occupants.
