Air Curtains
Air curtains are high-velocity ventilation devices designed to create an invisible barrier of air across a doorway or other opening. Their primary function is to prevent unconditioned air, drafts, contaminants, and insects from entering an indoor space, effectively separating two distinct environmental zones without the need for a physical door. The operational mechanism involves drawing in indoor air and propelling it across the opening via a powerful, directional jet. This engineered flow creates a pressure difference that blocks air transfer, minimizing energy exchange between the conditioned interior and the exterior or adjacent unconditioned space. Heating elements may be included to provide supplementary warmth, enhancing the comfort of the air barrier. Air curtains offer significant energy savings by drastically reducing the load on HVAC systems, particularly in high-traffic commercial entrances, loading docks, and cold storage facilities.
